
The History Of Nick Zwei
The following is just a glimpse at some of the key moments and experiences that made Nick the unique person he is today.
Youth
Nick was the fifth child in a family of thirteen children. Born in South Dakota, he spent most of his youth growing up on farms in South Dakota and Minnesota.


Lower Education
Nick was homeschooled the majority of kindergarten through grade twelve.
A.A.S. Law Enforcement
2002-2004
Nick attended Alexandria Technical and Community College. There he earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Law Enforcement.


Business Management
2002-2008
While in in college, Nick was employed at Long Prairie Food Center. He started in the position of clerk; however, he was quickly promoted to team leader and then shift manager. After graduating from college he stayed at the store and became a fulltime staff. In early 2006, the store closed. Later in 2006, it reopened again under new management as S.A.V.E. Superstore. Nick was asked to return to the store, this time as the Assistant Store Manager. Nick would hold this position until he resigned to join the U.S. Army.
Army National Guard
2005-2008
Nick had a lifelong dream to join the military. In July 2005, Nick followed this dream and joined the Minnesota Army National Guard as a Military Police. He was assigned to the 257th Military Police Company. Nick graduated from initial training from Fort Leonard Wood. In 2008 transferred to Active Duty Army.


U.S. Army Heidelberg
2008-2010
Nicks' first duty station with the Army was in Heidelberg Germany. There he was assigned to the 529th Military Police Company (Honor Guard). For the first few months he conducted police patrol of U.S. Army Base Heidelberg. However, it was not long before he was selected above his peers to join the highly selective protective service detachment assigned to protect the U.S. Army Europe Commanding General. Nick would serve in this role for the remainder of his time in Germany and obtain the position of team leader.
U.S. Army, Fort Carson
2010-2012
In 2010, Nick was stationed at Fort Carson. There he served with the 59th Military Police Company and the 984th Military Police Company. Nick primarily served in a law enforcement role patrolling the Fort Carson community. He would be selected to be a team leader and a police field training officer.


Marriage
2009-Current
On Halloween night of 2009, in Heidelberg Germany, Nick met a first year medical student. In December of 2010, they got married in Colorado Springs. They have a daughter and son. Both of whom were born in Germany.
U.S. Army, Fort Drum
2012-2014
In 2012, Nick was stationed at Fort Drum. Here he primarily served in law enforcement and security operations for the military base. He was again selected as a team leader. This would also be his final duty station as his contract ended and he left the Service under an Honorable Discharge.


B.A. Political Science
2014-2016
After leaving the Army, Nick attended the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities and Duluth). There he would obtain his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Minor in International Studies.
Germany
2017-2022
Nick again returned to Heidelberg Germany to be with his wife, who had taken a position with the University of Heidelberg Surgery Clinic as a surgeon and scientist. During this time, they would have welcome a daughter and son into the world. Nick proudly served his family as a stay at home parent and furthered his learning in a variety of areas.


B.S. Communication
2020-2021
In 2020, Nick started online courses through the University of Minnesota (Crookston). In 2021, he would earn his Bachelor of Science in Communication. During this time he interned as a communication manager for a medical research group at Heidelberg University. He would hold this volunteer position even after completing the internship and only left when the research group dissolved in 2023.
Colorado
2022-Current
In 2022, Nick and his family returned to live in the U.S. They relocated to Colorado and live in the Denver Metro area. Nick attended Arapahoe Community College and earned a Certificate in Law Enforcement. Nick obtained his CO POST certification in Law Enforcement in 2023. He was briefly employed with Arvada Police Department before leaving to pursue other law enforcement opportunities with a greater work-life balance. From 2023-2025 Nick served the University of Colorado Anschutz campus as a police officer with the University of Colorado Anschutz Police Department. Nick is currently a stay at home parent caring for his children.

2008-Current
Nick has visited the following counties: Canada, Mexico, Germany, England, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Greece, Poland, and Thailand.
